Beau and the Arrows – The Independent

One of our most loved bands Beau and the Arrows seem to be on the whats hot in the music industry radar right now , everyone wants a piece of them. NME and Steve Lamacq are big fans, , Clixie Music’s ‘one to watch’ and BBC Radio 6 where they will be doing a live interview on March 30th.

They are currently on The Independent ‘whats hot our our playlist’ for their incredible track ‘Fix’ out next month

‘This track aims for grand euphoria, buts its charm actually lies in Beau’s half spoke lackadaisical vocals’
The Independent March 2011

Check out the video below the track was featured in last years Skins promo.

Debut single ‘Fix’. Limited Edition 7″ vinyl and download – April 4th 2011 Happy Release Records.
www.myspace.com/happyrelease

“One of the attractions of the early Florence & The Machine demos were just how rough, raw and primal they sounded; just Flo and a guitar (without the drums and sans top-spin, the brave starkness of the sound concentrated almost totally on The Voice).

Beau and The Arrows have a similar economy of sound: ‘Fix’ is a record which works because of what they’ve left out, as much as what they’ve put in.

The vocals are beautifully understated, over a lonely drumbeat while this willowy guitar sound creeps around, occasionally tapping you on the shoulder. It is an exercise in restraint; a sort of tease.

It does to the Young Marble Giants what Bloc Party did with Gang Of Four; weaving a lovely, almost cracked voice (well, two voices at times) into this haunting, introspective pop song.”
Steve Lamacq

Broccoli bands doing well for themselves!

It’s become harder than ever for musicians to make their mark on the UK music scene due to the saturation of bands about on the circuit, so it’s always great for us to see bands we’ve worked so long with and booked for so many unique events for both Broccoli Music and corporate entertainment like XFM take the next step up on the music industry ladder.

Broccoli favourites Joana and the Wolf finally leaped into the big time headlining Club NME at Camden’s KOKO on Friday 20th August. Having played their fair share of small gigs on small stages I’m looking forward to seeing their name appearing top of the bill at all the big venues and festivals from now on.

We are thrilled (and not at all surprised) that Joana and the Wolf are headlining KOKO Friday 20th August, one of our all time favorite bands, can’t wait to see how Joana uses such a big stage, will be a performance to remember I can assure you!

We have booked Joana and the Wolf for nearly every big client we get as they never fail to impress, one event was The XFM Gigloo live events at Olympia, it was an incredible day both on and off stage, we did a lot of filmed interviews backstage and down the pub!!
