White Powder Gold – ‘RockNRolla’ used on BBC Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix
White Powder Gold are doing well right now. The bands latest single ‘RockNRolla’ was used on a segment of the BBC’s coverage of The Monaco Grand Prix.
We know literally hundreds of bands that would bite arms off the big wigs at the British Broadcasting Corporation for this privilege, well done lads!
Click here and go to 43:23 on the BBC iPlayer to check out White Powder Gold ‘RockNRolla’ on the BBC’s coverage.
If that has whetted your appetite check out the music video below…
It seems White Powder Gold’s music goes down very well with TV and radio.
We worked on the December Sessions for The O2 last year programming four of the twenty dates. The O2 were pretty impressed by the quality of bands we were programming they asked us to put forward bands tracks for the video trailer and radio ad.
They decided to go with White Powder Gold’s ‘Can’t Stop Me Now’ which made us and the band very happy.
Click here to listen to the radio ad which appeared on Capital Radio and XFM.
We’re big fans of White Powder Gold, we’ve booked the band to play on the Jam Stage at this years Strawberry Fields Festival and we’ll make sure we get them in for an interview in the Jam Lounge so they can tell us what’s next for the band!

A Lost Weekend Festival Launch Party Review
We’re looking forward to our first festival of the year and the first festival we will be working on with our new partnership with KK Introduces!
Unfortunately we couldn’t make it to the launch party for A Lost Weekend on 28th April 2012, we heard it was a pretty epic party.
Click here for the full festival line up and tickets are now on sale so click here.
Here’s a review of what we missed…
A Lost Weekend Festival Launch Party Review
The Grainstore, Oakham, Saturday 28 April 2012
Between Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd July, the smallest county in Britain will be hosting the grandest of music festivals – the ‘A Lost Weekend’ festival in Rutland.
To celebrate this, a launch party was unleashed at the Grainstore Brewery in Oakham – the home of none other than the Rutland Beast ale. This undeniably charming brewery, with its homely ochre and the alarming dart board in the performance area, provided the shelter and musical canvass for three Leicester-shaped groups – The Boobytraps, Raptusound, and Preacher & The Bear – each paying their lodgings and each bringing their unique sounds, rhythms, flavours and atmos-fillers to the packed bar.
None could argue with the fact that Oakham was not prepared for the full force of Preacher & The Bear – the duo held nothing back in kick-started the night with their fast-paced electric blues and their free-rhythm, soul-moving, rock ‘n’ roll, boogie-woogie and ‘hallelujah’ hollarin’. With a side order of manic gyrating, humorous talk and an impressive impromptu performance with Harmonica Mike (one of the festival organizers), they sought to convert the Oakham ‘Philistines’ into believers, and by the end of their set they had achieved precisely that, with even the cross-armed folk at the back unable to resist the charm, the style, or the entertainment of Preacher & The Bear. They will be seen again playing live on the Osprey Stage on the Friday night at the festival.
Preacher and the Bear will be playing the KK Introduces stage at A Lost Weekend on Friday 20th July 2012
The brewery then had a dramatic change of style and atmosphere as emerging Leicester four-piece Raptusound took to the stage to bring their big, big sound and their thought-provoking yet energetic brand of alternative electro rock. With four taps of the drum sticks Raptusound launched straight into their massive first song, Alibi, wowing the audience with an onslaught of raw-sounding guitar and soaring synth lines, backed by the tightly knitted rhythms of heated drum fills and smooth yet driving bass.
As the set progressed Raptusound impressed by mixing together a decidedly unique combination of frenzied drums, rugged bass and chilling strings topped by the appealing and captivating vocal lines of frontman Christopher Brown, providing a musical panorama that was laced with many a vigorous and dynamic impact, but also spiked with calm, composed and more reflective elements for maximum effect.
The audience was drawn in and the energetic applause reflected their appreciation of the tightness and musicianship of Raptusound – a band who burst onto the scene just last October and who have already made a significant impact, demonstrated not least by their playing the Osprey Stage at A Lost Weekend on the Friday night of the festival.
Raptusound are currently recording their debut EP which will be launched on Saturday 8th September at the Scholar Bar, Leicester University, and will be followed by a series of dates around the UK and Europe to promote the EP – this band are indeed impressive and dedicated.
They can be seen playing next at the historic Dublin Castle in London on 23rd May.

Raptusound will be playing the laying the KK Introduces stage at A Lost Weekend on Friday 20th July 2012
Raptusound’s well-thought out and delightfully intriguing cocktail of electro rock, poured out a tapestry of cleverly woven gems on a smoking rotisserie of musical notes, paving rather neatly the way for the party’s established headline act, The Boobytraps.
Leicester’s 4 piece indie outfit The Boobytraps steered the ship that was the launch event for A Lost Weekend Music Festival last Saturday night, which took place at The Grainstore Brewery, Oakham.
The free entry event featured a headline slot from The Boobytraps who tore into an hour’s set plus an extra unplanned encore as a result of the crowds demand!
The band whipped it up with a set which included the anthemic ‘My Town’ with an extended cut into The Vacccines ‘If You Wanna.’ The flow was pure music genius, & together, the crowd joined in. Other belting tracks included ‘Don’t Even Matter’ ‘Tell Me Now’ & a superb rendition of The Beatles ‘Day Tripper’ plus one of the bands favourites ‘Secret’ The Traps also cut a swathe with an outing of new material including ‘She’s Out Of My League’ & ‘Take My Heart.’
Front-man Jamie Williams offered the crowd every encouragement to “get involved” & of course with his strong vocal delivery, they wasted no time in dancing right in front of his nose. The band delivered a tight & uncompromising set which certainly gave the crowd a taster of things to come at this year’s A Lost Weekend Festival. The “Traps” will be headlining the festival’s Osprey stage on Sunday 22nd July.
The Boobytraps are set for a busy summer with appearances at A Lost Weekend Festival & also on the cards, Derbyshire’s Y-Not Festival, Burtfest, Glastonbudget, SolFest & other live performances up & down the country.
A Lost Weekend Festival promises to be an amazing event & will showcase a line-up which includes The Hoosiers, Toploader, Dodgy, The Selecter, The Blockheads, Wilko Johnson Tom Hingley (Ex Inspiral carpets) & The Lovers & much more. The festival takes place over the weekend of 20th – 22nd July. For full details check out www.alostweekend.co.uk There will also be a specially brewed Grainstore Brewery beer available at the event.
So that was the launch event, the festival kicks off on the 20th July 2012 and we can’t wait! We’ll be filming backstage at the KK Introduces stage on the Friday chatting to all the bands and bringing you some behind the scenes videos.
Tickets are now on sale and at £75 for a weekend ticket we believe this is bargain of the festival season!

An interview with Infadels
On Saturday 14th April 2012 we jumped in the car and headed down to Dover to a secret location to film an interview with Infadels on their video shoot for a single soon to be released from their new album ‘Future of the Gravity Boy’.
We pulled up in a caravan car park and were met by the band clutching a rubber dinghy and a map!
To be fair we should have expected this wasn’t going to be a normal day out interviewing a band.
The band led us over barbed wire fences, across sand dunes and through long grass until we came to a river crossing and all became clear what was expected of us and the rather small rubber dinghy.
After a tense 30 minutes and everyone playing it cool we made it across the water to one of the most incredible locations we’ve been to when interviewing a band.
After the interview we hung around for the day checking out the video shoot. We’ll keep you posted as to when it’s out and where you can watch it.
For more photos from our day with the Infadels click here and the interview should be available very soon.
Check out the first video from the bands 3rd album ‘Future of the Gravity Boy’.

I am such a huge Small Faces fan, have been since i can remember, have all the vinyls and im lucky enough to have always heard the best stories about them as my auntie used to the run the fan club in Carnaby street in the 60s!!
