Nelson Can ‘Apple Pie’ – Volkswagen launches Beetle in China ad campaign
We’ve been following the career of the all female Danish band Nelson Can for a while now and hoping that in the not to distant future we will work with them on a project here in the UK or over in their homeland!
They have such a stand out style that we always look for in bands, so when we saw today that an instrumental version of their track ‘Apple Pie’ was used on an advertising campaign for Volkswagen launching the Beetle in China we were very pleased indeed.

Raptusound – ‘From My Hands’ – debut EP
It’s been a great year for new music and Leicester has produced some of the finest new bands on the scene.
We were first introduced to new alternative electro rock band Raptusound over the summer at Barefoot Festival and Strawberry Fields Festival.
‘From My Hands’ is the debut 4-track EP from Raptusound, featuring the tracks Alibi, Wasted, Always Ready, and Truth Not Fashion. Raptusound have written, arranged, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered the EP themselves

The Dash announce next residency launch
Last night The Dash announced the launch night of a three week residency at Powers Bar in Kilburn kicking off on Thursday 11th October 2012.
The band have been described as “Britain’s best Rock ‘N’ Roll band” and we wholeheartedly agree!
Each week they’ll be performing at 9pm, “top and tailed by the finest artists known to humanity“.
The launch night features female fronted soul/folk/rockers Blame Hubert and rock n rollers The Dandies.
We’ve seen The Dash perform many times and knowing their party antics this is a night not to be missed!
We spent the summer with The Dash where they performed at Barefoot and Strawberry Fields festivals. Check out this video we shot with the band on a slightly hungover morning for all involved:
The Dash have been an amazing band for us at Broccoli Events working with us on live music events at venues across the capital, PR campaigns for brands like Nokia, video virals, festivals and more.
We always know we can rely on The Dash to deliver no matter what the client requires and believe you me the clients have asked for some pretty bizarre things…
We programmed the music for the Nokia Comes With Music campaign where bands performed in a pop up juke box at locations all over London to launch the new mobile phone from Nokia.

We asked The Dash to perform their version of Monty Python’s ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’ for a video viral campaign for a beer brand that we were producing videos for.
Under a veil of secrecy they took us to a roof top in Whitechapel and told us to be prepared to film.
This was up there as one of the top videos out of the series we produced…
We’ll leave you with The Dash performing in the ladies toilets at The 12 Bar, a project we worked on for The Ladies Toilet online trend magazine…

BLACK DRUMMER ‘Laburnum House’
At Broccoli we have been following BLACK DRUMMER since they landed in the UK this summer. We were lucky enough to meet and interview the band backstage at STRAWBERRY FIELDS FESTIVAL in Leicester.
New single ‘Laburnum House’ is due to be released next month by Clearcut Records

WebWaterfalls – The TV Programme Machine
“WebWaterfalls is a new way of creating and sharing media online. WebWaterfalls gives you the opportunity to become a TV Producer creating your own TV Channels, or as we call them, Waterfalls”.

We were approached by the WebWaterfalls team this week to start uploading some content and create our own TV shows using their new media platform.
We thought this is a fantastic concept, we have so much video footage on our Broccoli Events Youtube channel this would be an exciting way to put videos together, start creating our own online shows and share on social media with bands and fans.
We kicked off yesterday testing out the format with interviews and music videos from The Dash, KAV and Buster Shuffle.
Our next show will be aired from 3:30pm today (4/09/2012) featuring music videos, interviews, live gigs and more from Red N Pink.
So how does it work?
“If you think of a Waterfall like a TV Channel, then you can also consider yourself a TV Producer! Just like a TV Channel a Waterfall has Programs that are shown throughout the day. Video production work – Strawberry Fields Festival 2012
Broccoli Events were back stage at Strawberry Fields Festival 2012 interviewing all the bands performing on the Jam Stage.
We brought the bands into the Jam Lounge for a chat about music, performing at festivals, festival survival tips and more.
We were totally amazed, and very amused, by the amount of bands that brought just one two man tent for the entire band to sleep in over the weekend!
Check out the videos below, we had an amazing time hanging out with bands we’ve worked with before and met some new and incredibly talented musicians who we will hopefully be working with on future event work.
We are now available for video production work.
